VOLUME VI – CHAPTER XI

DON’T LOOK THROUGH COLOURED GLASSES

This type of double view – plain glass view and coloured glass view with regard to the staff will not do you good. One Principal used to praise a teacher for everything she did, because she was fair skinned and well to do. And she used to chide another for everything she did because she was dark skinned and came from a middle class family. This attitude created a gap between her and the staff

Avoid people who are prone to cold calling, airplane talking and having reverse Midas touch.

Our life is based on trust and hope only. Trust will make your day happy distrust will ruin everything. Your love for the staff and theirs for you should exceed the need for each other.

Because one person cheated you,

Because one person abused you,

Because one person spoke ill of you behind your back,

Because one person wrote a anonymous letter about you,

Because one person betrayed you,

Don’t dislike everyone and never say I will do it back to him.

VOLUME VI – CHAPTER XII

THINK THE IMPOSSIBLE IS POSSIBLE

Leadership is more about clean and clearing than learning. Our frame of reference, our cultural bearings acts as hindrances and we confront students with them. You provide an environment where they can cleanse their minds and put on leadership lenses over their world view lenses.

You have two types of constraints

Perceptual constrains

We see only what we want to see

Functional constraints

We exhibit a negative response to anything we are conditioned to believe as physically or emotionally damaging.

These two will prevent you from appreciating others point of view to reach the top we have to free yourself from these constraints. Everyone has leadership qualities. You can visit to change the world and to make your own life better.

Spinuza, Descarties and Aristotle became great leaders because they said

“Cognito Ergo sum”

“I think, therefore Iam”

“You think you shall be”

Your progress depends on your teachers progress, like the frontline sales man get your teachers involved in demand activation and not in pushing stocks. Train your teachers to make the students think and ask, not to tell what they know. Let the teachers consider every situation as too good, not to learn from. Think it is possible and try. Don’t decide it cant be achieved even as a advertisement says terms and conditions of life. So also

if you want to get things done by staffs

if you want students to be excellent

if you want parents to be supportive

then for everything

Terms and conditions apply. Find out those terms and conditions and fulfil them

Punjab & Bhangra dance, a Hindi group song, a fisherman dance of Maharastra” the author told him:

”Look , you are going to be here for at least another 3 years. Till then he will also be in that post. I know him well. He is very fond of Tamil classics & Bharathiyar. So you must do some fine packaginf for your program so that he appreciates KV for not forgetting Tamil. So you have these in your program and ask your teachers to train the pupils well. Have a religious cultural program with Tamil flavour. Start with Kural, then dance from Silapadhikaram. Purananooru periapuranam (Lord beaten by the King), Agananooru, veerapandia Kattabomman speech. The principal arranged a nice program on the above lines. The director at the end again came up on the stage and said, “I never expected a KV to put up such a show with a strong Tamil flavour”

Once a principal from North east met the author at Delhi and said, “ This is my first year, the annual day I want to make it a nice one. I want you to give me some ideas”

The author told him, “ The people in the North east don’t know much about the rest of India. So choose one typical dance of states. This year (you will be in that school for 3 years. After that you can ask for your own state) and choose a dance typically of that state also include one dance one song of the state where you now work.

This packaging will help give a good impression about you. It worked next year. Beginning itself the parents wanted him to present the other states of India. The author had found that his Kadhi kurtha and dhoti was his packaging when he goes to the Govt. Secretariat.

To gain entry into some offices his visiting card was the packaging.

Your contacts are your packaging you should know which card to be played at the appropriate time.

We have at present persons who pride themselves on their encyclopedic scholarship and technical skills; they claim to know the innermost secrets of Nature; they fly into outer space and even land on the moon. But ask them if they have “Ananda” and can stay in “Ananda”. They will reply that they have not yet experienced it. If they know everything worth knowing, why have they missed this? It is clear that they are suffering from some delusion. – Sathya Sai Baba
