On 23rd Nov, the final day of the 97th birthday celebrations of our beloved Bhagawan, the programme began with a grand procession carrying Swami’s picture on a palanquin with vibrant Veda Parayanam and soulful Swagatham singing. After the traditional ‘Jai Vijayee Bhava’ song offering, 97 lamps of love were lit by the students and the guests marking the glorious 97 years of Pure Love of Bhagawan in action, with the accompaniment of the mellifluous ‘Akhand Jyothi Jalao…’ song.
Director Sri P.Kumarasamy welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest of the day Sri Kandaswamy Bharathan, an ardent devotee of Bhagawan, Joint-director, Kavithalayaa Productions Pvt. Ltd. Chennai.
Then, fascinating cultural programmes and thoughtful speeches by the students occupied the stage. The fine art students offered a fusion ensemble entitled, ‘The birth of the Divine’. A skit entitled ‘Panchakshari’, emphasizing the fundamental human values one need to follow in his/her life, received appreciations from everyone. The quote of Bhagawan on the word ‘WATCH’ was highlighted during the skit. The Bhajan team of the school offered mellifluous devotional songs at the lotus feet of Bhagawan.
Chief Guest Sri Kandswamy Bharathan expressed his gratitude to Bhagawan for blessing him to be present on this holy occasion at the Mini Prasanthi Nilayam – SSSIE. He explained the students that apart from knowledge and skills, each one should aspire to excel in following human values to attain success in the modern world today. He appreciated them for having been blessed by Bhagawan to travel in the Sai Mission at the young age.
Students who won prizes in various outside competitions were given certificate and prize by the chief guest. Mrs. S.Pramila and Mrs. M.Maheswari who received the best teacher award of the year were felicitated during the occasion.
For the lord who is dancing in our hearts as our Athma Sai, Jhoola Seva was offered. Senior Principal Smt. Savithri Chandrasekaran proposed the vote of thanks. Correspondent Sri S.Loganthan, Vice Principal Smt. Veda Nayagi, School Educaitonal advisor Smt. Uma Sivaraman (Deputy Commissioner (Retd.) Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Ernakulam), Sri S.V.Iyer, SMC Member, were present during the occasion. The programme ended with Mangala Ararthi and Prasadam Distribution.
