The event began with a rhythmic Band March and a synchronized house-wise March Past performed by the contingents of the SSSIE Sai students Army. All paid their obeisance to the nation and the freedom fighters by mellifluously singing ‘Vande Mataram’ song and the National Anthem. The cultural programs were staged at the Ram Sai assembly hall. Mahila students dressed as the popular Mahila freedom fighter Smt. Velu Nachiyar and an ideal Sai student compered the events.
After invoking the Divine Blessings with Veda Parayanam, Correspondent Sri S.Loganathan delivered the welcome address. In his talk, he advised the students to give respect to the motherland each and every day and not only during independence or republic days. He stressed that the prosperity of the country starts with self-discipline practised by the people of the nation.

He began his speech by admiring the Divine vibrations present on the campus and expressed that he feels as if he is seated at Sai Kulwant Hall in Prasanthi Nilayam.
