They say hard work pays off, I have heard that numerous times from my grandparents, parents and teachers. Like many things, it is difficult to realize but only until now, I am fortunate enough to see that myself. Some among us caught up in the daily routines and don’t observe nature and things happening around us in detail, maybe we should because nature has many things to teach us my recent experience ascertains that, and you will also agree after reading this.
One of the evening I heard sparrows chirping! I saw a sparrow fluttering its wings it caught my attention and another one sitting having a vigil in my balcony grill, so I started to gaze the sparrows, one of it had a scutch grass (Arugampul) in its beak and was very cautious turning its tiny head many times to see things around before going towards the air conditioner unit kept in our balcony, the sparrow is trying to stuff the gap in between the wall and the air conditioner unit with the grass it had, by this time I came to know it is trying to build a nest . One after another it was bringing leaves and grasses some of them are dried and some of them are green to stuff the gap while doing this many of the grasses and small leaves it brought fall in the floor, the sparrows seems to be not bothered or stopping , it continued to bring grasses and leaves. I was amazed by seeing the energy the small sparrow had within it to expend and never seem to be tired even after hours. The next day morning I saw the sparrow still trying to stuff the gap to build a nest, eventually in the next couple of days it was complete “the pair succeeded by building the nest”.
Yes, I had been thought and made to realize that persistent hard work really does pay off by a pair of sparrows I wonder how much nature can teach me? hope it has plenty…. Om Sai Ram, I wish and pray that every one of us shall work hard persistently like these sparrows and succeed in life. “Only that which is got by hard effort will yield lasting benefit.” – Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba
